Last week DY shot his first video for his current radio single “Passenger” which features Canadian heartthrob, Danny Fernandes. The video shoot took place in Toronto and CP Records was in the house showing support for their newest signee. The video was directed by Leo-Award winning Vancouver director Matthew Schilling. Lupe & Kenna finally released the visuals for their Haiti relief track, Resurrection. It’s part of a compilation album presented by Music for Relief, and the profit from the downloads will go directly to relief efforts in Haiti. Even though it’s no longer the “news of the day” and CNN has pushed it to the back burner, there’s more that needs to be done to help. The album also features unreleased music from Linkin Park, Alanis Morissette, Metric & much more. And really, good music for a good cause is a win-win situation.

I’ve interviewed B.O.B several times and every time he is more gracious and extraverted than the last. His answers are genuine and he truly invests himself in the conversation. If you don’t know about B.o.B yet, shame on you. He’s not only a good musician, but has been on the grind hard for the past 2 years to put himself on a different level than most artists coming out.
B.o.B’s debut album “The Adventures of Bobby Ray” was scheduled to be released on May 25th, and to build anticipation for this day; he put together a mixtape titled “May 25th” presented by Grandhustle, The Aphilliates and LRG, hosted by DJ Drama and DJ Sense. The mixtape had an incredible buzz and reception among fans and media critics, and soon after, the release date of the album was changed to April 27th. “I kind of got a little mad,” B.o.B says in our session. “Because usually when something gets changed is usually something that you don’t like. Just my intial default response was, why they doing that?”
In an interview with XXL during BET’s Rip The Runaway, B.o.B also disclosed information about a track on the album that features T.I. titled “Fifth Dimension” which is co-produced by T.I. himself and Grandhustle producer Lil C. “B.o.B is a very talented musician,” Lil C told me (Lola Plaku) last time we spoke. “We have great chemistry when working together and it’s definitely going to be a nice album.” Labelmate Lupe Fiasco will also be featured on “The Adventures of Bobby Ray” which will be released under Atlantic/Grandhustle/Rebel Rock.
B.o.B’s U.S.A. tour with Lupe kicked off Friday (March 5th) in Clarendon, California. “We got in the studio first and then we started doing show dates together and then it kind of evolved into a full out tour,” B.o.B told VIBE. While video of the Atlanta newcomer performing his album cut, “Yesterday,” has already hit the web, he also plans on premiering a few other tracks on stage, including “Go Through the Machine” and “Letter From Vietnam,” which is inspired by a true story. I caught this footage of Danny Fernandes performing at Ontario Place on “Portugal Day” the other evening and I thought it was so adorable. His fans really do love him. It’s from a while back, but it’s a great show!
Danny is up for 2 Juno Awards at the 2010 Juno Awards taking place in St. John, NL. Go Danny!

Fashion label Stussy recently dropped a documentary about James Dewitt Yancey, better known as J Dilla. With February 10th marking 4 years since his tragic passing, the month has been filled with tributes to the legendary producer & MC; including a Cookin’ Soul mixtape honouring both Dilla and Big Pun, who passed away in February of 2000.
In addition, Stussy plans to release a commemorative tee & have “Dilla Days” at their various North American outlets. – [stussy.com]
