Last week I had the chance to sit down with Canadian R&B singer Jully Black. I had met her two years ago at the annual DJ Stylus Awards in Toronto, where she won Canadian R&B single of the year for “DJ Play My Song.” It was a short meet though. Something along the lines of a photo opp in the media section.

After purchasing the new Rihanna Rated R album, I couldn’t stop flipping continuously through the booklet [It’s actually sitting in front of me as I blog this]. As a photographer, I can appreciate great art, and Rihanna’s team did an awesome job putting this one together. Her album art is one of the best I have seen in a very long time! Here is a behind the scenes look of how it all came together.

Young Jeezy’s Non-Profit is called Street Dreamz and the last two nights he took to the Streets to share and encourage kids in their Dreamz. Last night he went door to door passing out boxes of turkeys and all the fixings so that those who wouldn’t normally would have a good Thanksgiving. Tonight he picked up the Kids and took em to the Hawks game. From walking in with them buying them all snacks even kicking it with them in the stands. He made sure the kids had a great time and left them with some parting words of wisdom before the night was over. When asked why he does it “I am thankful to be able to stay a part of our youth today and the direction that they may choose to pursue. To me, the success behind being Young Jeezy, behind the fame is being able to take time out and help the less fortunate when I am able to.” Young Jeezy…

Who doesn’t know that Rihanna’s new album RATE R is out in stores as of this week? The R&B POP sensation has finally released her 13 track project, which has been the topic amongst anticipating fans. The album covers Rihanna’s style from all genres of music; from rock to R&B. However, one track that stands out the most is “RUDE BOY”. This sexy sultry, mid tempo song has a slick and catchy chorus, not to mention, hot beat. Rated R didn’t disappoint me at all, not to mention that her album art is incredible. You got a winner Rihanna! [In my books, if that even matters, lol]

Mariah Carey is re-launching her latest album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel as a remix project, in which the album will include 90 percent features [such as Trey Songz and Big Boi] and brand new tracks. Good news for the fans, she will be doing full promotion this time around. One song that stands out on the current album is “The Impossible”, which is a clearly baby making track, that will surly set the mood right. In a recent interview, Mariah revealed that the legendary Jodeci will be featured on the single. Another #1 for the most successful female artist of all time? Possibly!
