Meet the Campbells. If you haven’t had a chance to go on WorldStarHipHop.com lately, then you’ve been missing out on this video. This family went to ShopRite to get a cake for their son’s b-day whose name is ADOLF HITLER..and were outraged by the grocery store’s decline in their request. One of their daughter’s name is Jocely ARYAN NATION Campbell…Are you serious?!?!?!The father says that a name is just a name…just because they want to name their kids NAZI names, it doesn’t mean that they are racist. Just because he has NAZI memorabilia and NAZI tattoos all over him, doesn’t mean he’s racist either.WHAT?!Nazism, officially called National Socialism, refers primarily to the ideology and practices of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party under Adolf Hitler; and the policies adopted by the government of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945.Hitler claimed that a nation was the highest creation of a “race”, and “great nations” (literally large nations) were the creation of homogeneous populations of “great races” working together. These nations developed cultures that naturally grew from “races” with “natural good health, and aggressive, intelligent, courageous traits”. The “weakest nations”, Hitler said, were those of “impure” or “mongrel races”, because they had divided, quarreling, and therefore weak cultures. Worst of all were seen to be the parasitic “Untermensch” (“subhumans”), mainly Jews, but also Gypsies and Jehovah’s Witnesses, homosexuals, the disabled and so-called anti-socials, all of whom were considered “lebensunwertes Leben” (“life-unworthy life”) owing to their perceived deficiency and inferiority, as well as their wandering, nationless invasions (“the International Jew”). (Thnx Wikipedia)After everything he did, and the amount of people he persecuted, burned, shot, tortured and ultimately killed, how can a person in 2008 say that a name such as ADOLF HITLER is just a name? When there are people who cringe at the sound of that name…4

I was going on several other websites and everybody seems to have their 2008 recap in check. Numerous blogs have posted the hotest records of 2008, hottest videos, or biggest headlines. Checking out http://www.2dopeboyz.com/ (and reading the comments on the Soulja Boy video) brought me back to hip-hop in the earlier stages of the music…circa late 90’s – early 2000. I thought instead of doing a recap of what happened in ‘08..I’d do a recap of some of my most memorable records and videos. Mind you this is merely a collection, but just a slither of a movement. Videos I couldn’t get the code for but who need to be in this list are Nas – Hate me Now, Dead Prez – Hell Yeah, Cypress Hill – Rap Superstar + Insane in the Brain, and Jermaine Dupri ft Ludacris, Diddy, Murphy Lee & Snoop – Welcome to Atlanta (Remix).
These were the videos that you actually sat on the couch to watch when Rapcity came on. The songs that when you hear in the car to this day, you say “That was my song!!…Turn it up..turn it up…whoooo“…That’s me. Watching these videos again made me smile. I love hip-hop now, and this is the reason why I fell in love with it in the first place. No AutoTune necessary. Just bring your mic and a heavy freestyle. (in no particular order..)OUTKAST – ROSA PARKS (Back of the bus) I wanted to post Bombs Over Baghdad, but Sony closed the embedding, so I couldn’t post it. Rosa Parks is just as vivid of a record.Ps. I met Big Boi recently in Atlanta at Stankonia studios, and he is an absolute sweetheart. Really nice, chill, and laid back. It was like kicking it back with a piece of history….sigh.BUSTA RHYMES – BREAK YA NECKXZIBIT – X (Cameo by Wu Tang + Dre+ Snoop)COOLIO – GANGSTA’S PARADISEWU TANG CLAN – GRAVEL PITNOTORIOUS BIG – JUICYMOBB DEEP – SHOOK ONES (Really wanted to put Quiet Storm too…)FOXY BROWN FT. JAY Z – I’LL BE (Their Sunshine collabo was just as dope)JAY Z – BIG PIMPIN (Among countless other Jay Z records)CASH MONEY – HOT GIRL (Back that A$$ up & Bling Bling were my other two choices)
SNOOP DOGG – WHAT’S MY NAMEDR. DRE – STIL D.R.E
NELLY – COUNTRY GRAMMAR
JA RULE – HOLLA HOLLA

Kenny Burns…
Lifestyle Specialist is the title, but the job description is so much much more. A music fiend, fashion connoisseur and a mastermind in marketing, Kenny is a driving force in the music industry. Working closely with artists like Monica, Jay Z, Mariah Carey, Kanye West since the early 90s to mention a few, Kenny Burns has done it all.
I had the honor of having Kenny for dinner (thanks Mariah) and he is truly a remarkable man. I didn’t cook… just for the record. My phenomenal-of-a-cook-roommate did. Thanks again M.
Words cannot describe who Kenny is, only photos and videos can. So do me (and yourself) a favor and check the Kenny Burns Show on Vimeo or visit him on myspace at www.myspace.com/thekennyburnsshow. You won’t be dissapointed.
