I’m not sure if you ever got a chance to see the video of GZA from Wu Tang dissing Soulja Boy and 50 Cent(click HERE to see it), but on an interview with Funkmaster Flex, 50 Cent got to say his 2 cents…well maybe 5 cents…and that shit is funny as hell… He says “I have an old school Chevy Impala Yo age…” LOL.
And While I was browsing the net, I came across that MTV CRIBS SPECIAL on 50’s house…*sigh* I thought to myself…”What do I live for??” Normal people got a Fish Tank…50 gets to have a whole pond for his fishes…(This brings me back to that video of Camron dissin 50 saying “Catch the pool in the back” and then in an interview with ALLHIPHOP 50 says “I got bathtubs bigger than your pool”) We beleive you 50, we beleive you…now how about you get a LOLA room up in that mansion and we’re straight? lol..juss playin (maybe not)*giggles*Part1Part2Part 3So Whatchu think? Found this video on www.woldstarhiphop.com while working on my DJ Drama interview. Vixens like Shy Saltor from “Im So Hood” Lashontae from Neyo’s “Because of You“, Candice Stevensen, Summer Walker and the Glenn Twins from Drama’s “5000 Ones” and more get together for the 1st time, at a location in Atlanta and have some real talk about music, videos, artists and of course Karrine “Superhead” Stephens. So, I haven’t updated this badboy in about a week…and I am terribly sorry. I went to LA for the past week and never had the chance to work on it. Well really I did, I think I was just a lil lazy (ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh..yes i said it…) Anyways…this blog will TOTALLY bring you up to speed with what I did…which really wasn’t much! I relaxed more than anything and that was great!! While doing work tonight, I started talking to my boy Marlon from Soundhustle on MSN. We were talking about just Canadian artists and enterpreneurs who expect things to just be handed to them rather than work their butt off to meet the right people or to rather make themselves useful. Anyways…I was tellin him how I was watching E! the other day and Aerosmith’s third album Toys in the Attic released in 1975 sold 8 million copies. That to me is CRAZY because there no hip-hop artists releasing records today who can achieve that sort of success with one album. That got me on to RIAA’s website. RIAA for all of you who don’t know is the Recoding Industry Association of America (click here to go to their page)The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is the trade group that represents the U.S. recording industry. Its members are the record companies that comprise the most vibrant national music industry in the world. RIAA members create, manufacture and/or distribute approximately 90% of all legitimate sound recordings produced and sold in the United States. The BIG FOUR are EMI, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group. There are a ton of interesting facts on the RIAA website including the fact that the highest selling hip-hop artist to date is 2Pac in 43rd place with 36.5 million records sold. (Keep in mind that the highest selling artist/group to date is The Beatles with 170 million. Also it’s interesting to see that Eminem preceeds over Jay Z with 27 million vs. 25 mill on Jay. For some of you that may be like “it’s only 2 more million” keep in mind that Jay has released a total of 11 albums since 1996 and Eminem has released only 4 since 1999! Who would have ever thought huh? Anyways…there are a few other hip-hop artists that still remain relevant who are on that list, and the others are nowhere to be seen. Oh I also want to note that DMX has sold more albums than Prince…WTF? I couldn’t beleive it! There’s a lot of stuff that makes you wonder like what?! I was on the phone with Jesse over @ HipHopCanada and we were talking about the Grammys. I was telling him that a good friend of mine Swift (Dirty Swift from Midi Mafia – www.myspace.com/midimafia) just recently got nominated for 3 Grammys!! I also mentioned that Kanye West got nominated for 8 Grammys. Shit is crazy. And Jesse was like “Remember Kanye crashing the stage at the Europe Music Awards?” Ohhhhhhhhhhhh shit..I HAD to go bring the video back cuz that was a SERIOUS outburst!
